Eager to see just who could have possible swiped right on that terrible profile I quickly fumble to tap at the 'Likes' button, my my shaking hand and large phone making it a little difficult to navigate to the oddly placed prompt.
Suddenly the screen flickers, the gold border remaining as a blank page appears. For a moment I think I was lie to, the lack of any potential matches causing no small amount of confusion. However, after a few seconds image after image begins to populate the blank background, each listing a name along with the person's age and profession.
As I tap at the first profile picture it merely expands, the same information being provide once over as a set of buttons appear at the bottom of the screen.

Before long I find myself squinting down at over a dozen profile pictures, the size of them shrinking more and more as each slowly loads and reshuffles into place

With my heart hammering in my chest, the sound of my blood pumping racing through my ears, I quickly swipe right on one of the profiles only for the app to hang for a moment. A small spinning wheel grinds as it struggles with something on the back end.
Suddenly, a new alert flashes up as a box with plain text fills the screen.

Huffing slightly I chuckle nervously, running a hand through my hair. "Yeeeeeah..." I groan, thinking back to just how long ago I had made my account. Was it weeks? Months? Could it have even been last year?
Flick my thumb over the screen I watch as error after error put up, my stomach sinking as the realization I had paid for nothing begins to creep over me. However, as I begin to tap at the screen a small chime chirps through my phones speaker as the first match finally goes through.
