Fusion Therapy - Part Three

"The bubbly young blonde in the fifth row, you weren't afraid to jump the bidding a few steps were you."

The crowd murmurs and parts slightly, attempting as best as they can to make way for the young winner of the auction. From my low position in the stage, sloshing around in the large glass vessel, I can only see the front few rows and even then they're just heads.

It isn't until she reaches the stairs that I see the auction winner, the seemingly gargantuan blonde flouncing up the steps with an immensely giddy grin spread across her face though something seems off or vacant behind it all.

Fusion Therapy - Part Two

"Going once, going twice...sold"

As the last word leaves the salesman's lips he taps something beside the dazed and drooling redhead, the padded metal sheet she is strapped to humming to life as arcs of blue plasma begins to run along her back. The what little padding behind her begins to peel away, the cheap foam of what I can only assume was a repurposed bed searing and vaporizing as each wriggling arch of light bridges out from the frame.

Despite the painful-looking scene the redhead doesn't appear to even notice, her head tilting up weakly to look into the crowd. The crowd soon turns from cheering and sighs of defeat to screams of terror and concerned shouting as one of the blue rivulets of plasma finally burrows through the redhead's abdomen before twisting back in on itself.

Fusion Therapy - Part One

Harsh and overpowering light bombards my eyes as I stir and claw my way to consciousness. As my eyes flutter open I'm forced to immediately close them again more tightly than before as what feels almost like a spotlight shines in my face. My head pounds painfully as I become more and more aware of the world around me, the whole process feeling awfully slow thanks to a heavy fog filling my mind.

The room around me is filled with a general hum of different voices, the collection of individuals softly chatting to each other building to be greater than the sum of its parts. I try my best to focus on any of the conversations in the hopes of working out where I was, however, I find what little snippets I can find slipping through my mental fingers like grains of sand.
