The Great Shift - Part One

Shambling around my kitchen I struggle to get my coffee heated up, the kettle flickering and faulting as it sits in its small little holster. Groaning to myself I slowly begin to shuffle about the small cramped kitchen of my apartment, the thought of going out to buy a new kettle or out for an expensive barista coffee both leaving be wanting.

"For fucks sake..." I groan, running my hands though my short light brown hair as I lean back. For a moment I fiddle with the cable of the kettle's  stand, unfortunately my efforts producing little practical effect as the kettle itself simply splutters and whines.

Biting at my lower lip I stare at the failing appliance, a slight sigh slipping though my lips as I lean up against the counter behind me. It had been months since I lost my teaching job due to budget cuts, and the loss of the very necessary coffee provider was simply something I hadn't budgeted for.

"God damn..." I whine, bracing myself against the counter top across from me as my head throbs with what I can only think is a desperate need for caffeine. Something tugs at the back of my mind, a sensation that is almost painful as the pulling builds and builds by the minutes.

Mastered PC - Part Three

"He'll... a bet... than half the..." Fiona giggles, her words largely failing to reach me over the building in intensity of the ringing int my ears. The blurring of my vision soon begins to turn to a blanketing darkness, the room swimming in a gloomy haze as the two women continue their typing.

"Yeah... could... Program or some..." Gracie chirps, eager to finally have the older woman on the same page as her. "Can... sure he... lyzed?" She quickly inquiries, a sudden squeal filling the room as she notices something.

The two women scream at something as I soon find the piercing tone consume my senses entirely, the gloomy fog encompassing my entire vision. For a split second I feel as though I'm falling, my lurch inside my gut sending my heart into my throat as feeling rapidly returns to my body all at once.

With a snap the ringing in my ears is soon replaced with the loud 'Beep beep beep' of a cheap alarm clock right beside me, the noise immediately causing my head to ache. Each sharp electronic chirp pierces into my skull, a low and tired groan escaping my lips as I try to force my eyes open.

The sound leaves something amiss in my mind, a faint sense that something is off as I lazily reach out towards the source of the noise. With a loud slap I bring my hand down on the flimsy plastic device, the speakers shutting off mid-chirp as my eyes flutter open.

"I don't have..." I wheeze out groggily, a hacking cough soon erupting from my throat as I try to clear it. My voice is off, higher pitched yet with a slightly husky undertone leaving it with a hint of deepness. With each hacking splutter I feel my chest jiggling, a set of subtle weights shifting beneath my shirt as I feel a nights worth of sweat causing the slight mounds to stick together.

My breath quickly grows ragged, with huffing gasp for air dragging in the strands of hair hanging about my face and glued to my lips. With one final gasp I heave myself up, the bed springs squeaking obnoxiously as I lurch about on the cheap mattress.

Mastered PC - Part Two

Dragging myself up the stairs, winding around the spiraling with trudging heavy footfalls, I soon find myself listening to the whine of the overworked cooling fans. Cocking an eyebrow I try to quicken the pace, my dulled mind struggling to remember something important.

"Did I lock the..." I begin to croak, my voice trailing off as I reach the fourth floor landing and the sight of my open front door half way down the hall.

My heart skips a beat, my feet nearly slipping out from under me as I race towards the open doorway. Lurching into my apartment, I find my laptop cradled in the arms of my former girlfriend Fiona as she tries to hold the overheating laptop away from my upstairs neighbor Gracie.

Mastered PC - Part One

My hands shake inside my pockets as I pace around the supermarket, my clammy palms constantly needing wiping off as I wander up and down the aisles in search of something to take my mind off of what was occurring back home. Snacks, coffee, anything would do though try as I might my mind continues to lurch back towards that same dim green couch and the overheating laptop sitting atop the cushions.

My heart races in my chest, my hands reaching out for the first bag of chips I can find as I quickly place them under my arm. I had needed to distract myself somehow, to get out of the apartment and to not just stare at the small ASCII loading bar as the strange program unpacked and deployed itself onto the very much outdated hardware.

A smirks spreads across my face as I let my thoughts linger for a minute, my mind turning to all those I could soon be leaving behind. From Kelly and Margaret from down the hall and Haley across from me, to Gracie upstairs as well as Rachel and her awful granddaughter Emily. Even Fiona would likely be long gone once I made even a few changes, the people I saw nearly every day suddenly being distant memories as I retooled reality as I saw fit.

It was all thanks to the mythical program I had finally found, my smile deepening as I think to the potential of Master PC once it had finally finished installing back at home.

Game of Lives - Part Four

"Welcome back class" she coos in a prim and proper manner, her tone clashing with the mischievous and delighted look on her face. "Did we enjoy our play time?" she asks, biting her bottom lip hard as she stares at my chest in a knowing manner. "I certainly enjoyed my meal, very... satisfying" she states, licking her lips as they are suddenly coated in a deep red gloss. "Unlike some of us."

"What did..." I pant, my hand shooting up to my mouth as the soft and delicate voice rings out in the now truly empty room. Glancing down at myself I let out a low whimper, my other hand reaching down to touch my aching chest before its suddenly yanked down to the arm rest.

"No playing with yourself in class young lady" Mori snaps, her stern character returning before she begins to chuckle once again. "And as for what I did... I did nothing aside from bringing your choices to life" she explains, waving her hand as the sound of shuffling cardboard fills the room. I watch as my tableau slowly spread out in front of me, my eyes going wide as it all begins to sink in.

"I... what did..." I gasp, squeezing my legs together with a wince as I feel the dripping drool from my pussy soak through the cheap material of my pants and coat my slender thighs. "Turn me..."

"Back?" Mori muses, looking down at the tiny red young woman staggering about in her palm. "But we still have so much more to play" she states, throwing the miniature me into the air as it suddenly appears along with the board on the desk. I feel the clattering of plastic dice fill my palm as my mouth hangs open in shock.

"Now..." Mori coos, taking a deep breath as her eyes narrow in on me. "Let's start the next round."

Game of Lives - Part Three

Bawling my eyes out and clenching my jaw I quiver and whimper on the floor, my lanky limbs sprawling out as the heat slowly begins to dissipate. Drenched in sweat and panting heavily I barely register the soft and pitched up tone encompassing each pathetic utterance from my lips.

"The first one's the hardest" Mori chuckles, watching me splay out on the floor. "Especially after such a long round. Now, go enjoy your recess" she coos giddily, licking her lips with a sense of voracious hunger. "Some of us need to eat."

Suddenly, darkness consumes my vision and silence surrounds my senses. I feel a though I am adrift for a moment, my limbs floating through something warm and dense before suddenly the momentary reprieve ends with a sudden and painful slam.

Game of Lives - Part Two

Swallowing hard I read over the options, my skin crawling and stomach sinking as I try my best to understand what any of these conditions even mean. Before I can even process half of what's on the cards I'm snapped out of my stupor by Mori.

"We're ready to start" she coos warmly, biting her lower lip with anticipation. Suddenly, with a slight rattle I feel the dice appear in my sweaty palm. Clutching them with shaking hands I stare at the woman on the TV, freezing in place as I contemplate simply not rolling the dice at all.

"I know what you're thinking..." she coos softly, wriggling her hips as she strides around her little desk. "If you don't roll them, I will" she states, she gaze narrowing and her lips pursing at the thought. "And I'll be the one picking your card, so if you know what's good for you... Roll!"

Quivering in place, my muscles locked as I find myself unable to leave a seated state, I let out a low whimper. Tilting my hand to the side I let the dice fall, the cheap plastic clattering to the ground with a cheer soon following from the woman on the screen.

RE: Skill Shapers - Part Two

Heaving up from his chair a little, the man reaches out towards me. His hand trembles slightly as he struggles to hold the jostling pink vial, his fingers lacking much in the way of dexterity as he tries his best to extend the offering out without dropping it to the floor.

With a quivering hand I reach up, taking the sweat slickened vial with a wince. It's hard to tell if the thing is warm thanks to the shimmering pink liquid inside or from the layer of foul sweat that clings to the glass thanks to the grasp of the flabby man across from me.

"Well..." he asks, nodding towards the vial. "If you want to accept your new role go right ahead, otherwise I think were done here tod..."

"No no..." I blurt out, reaching for the label only for it to fall off thanks to the sweat soaking through it. I choke out a faint smile, trying my best to look happy with the situation. I slowly open the lid of the vial, the liquid inside shifting as if reacting to the fresh air slowly streaming inside. As the lid slides off I slowly bring the glass to my mouth, my free hand reaching down to turn the label over.

With the top of the bottle only an inch or two from my lips I slowly squeak out. "I'm more than happy to trying being a...Food Service and Business Owner?"

Skill Shapers - Part One

Sitting in the small office, the ticking of the small clock on the wall falling far behind my racing heart, I tap my fingers nervously against the arms of my seat. The well worn padding of the cheap office chair does little in way of providing any sense of comfort, the wooden base of the seat easily being felt beneath me as I shift awkwardly in my seat.

My nails click dully against the coarse plastic armrest, my arms remaining held at my side as I try to take up as little space as I can in the tiny shoebox of an office. Beyond the small desk in front of me sits a rather bored and disinterested looking man in his late forties, a poor excuse of a comb over drawing the eyes to his shiny pale head. His large and doughy frame strains a similarly heavily worn seat, the arm rests jabbing into his sides and squishing his flab as he reads over the forms on his desk.

"Well..." he mutters in a low and huffing gargle, coughing slightly as he clears his throat. "It looks like we may actually have something for you" he muses, moving a set of stumpy sausage-like fingers to his thick walrus mustache before stroking it in deep thought.

Reaching down to his desk he slowly begins to open and close various drawers, a faint clinking of glass and metal echoing out of each one as he strains his beady eyes at the contents within.

"Really!" I croak, a cold sweat quickly beading up on my forehead and back as I watch him search for something in the drawers. A faint glow slips up from each draw as he opens it, an eerie pink light emanating up and over the man's sickly pale skin.

"High social aptitude..." he grunts, his voice coming out in a heavy sigh as he leans further down and forces the air from his lungs. "Educated, a diverse range of customer service jobs in your history. I'm sure we can find something for you in..." he mutters, reaching into a drawer and fishing around with a deep sense of concentration as he is bathed in blue light.
