Witness Relocation - Part Six

Before I can even start my search I find my notification bar practically overflowing with messages. It's almost overwhelming, the idea of searching through them all while I sit in the car seeming all to daunting. However, I quickly notice the most recent message being only a few minutes old and decide to start there.

Tapping at the screen I quickly open the latest message finding it a part of a long an emoji laden string of excited texts back and forth. Focusing up I hold the phone up, avoiding glare as I read the text from ' <3 Mea-Bae <3'

<3 Mae-Bae <3:  On our way 2 the lakehouse... BONFIRE BIRTHDAY 4 MY FAV GIRL

Swallowing hard I continue to nibble at my plump up lips, oddly beginning to savor the taste of the strawberry lip gloss and the sweetness it entails. Wriggling anxiously in my seat I struggle to keep my arms still, the straps of my tan top thankfully having eased up yet still remaining a risk to my long lanky limbs.

"I guess... it's meant to by my..." I huff, letting out a long sigh as I turn my attention to the dashboard and the large touch screen nestled within. Looking it over I struggle to navigate the various buttons and icons dotting the display.

Slowly but surely I begin to tap my way through, wincing with my movements as I watch the flickering lights dance beneath my arms and legs. Finally I find something helpful, a prompt to simply do speech-to-text with the onboard assistant.

"Um..." I mutter, pressing the little microphone icon. "Set destination as... Lake House?" I ask, my voice coming out clear and proper in an attempt to avoid any mistranslation. My stomach twists as I watch the screen begin to process my speech, a weak squeak slipping past my lips as I spy what the computer thinks I said.

"How do I get to the... you know... the lake house from here and...like..."

After a brief moment of processing I watch as the GPS suddenly kicks into gear, a soothing feminine voice piping up as it tries to guide me out of the parking lot drive way.

"I have found a saved address named... 'Lake... House'... in your address book, is this correct?" The voice coos, pausing for brief moments as it is forced to interrupt a pre-programmed sentence. I turn on my indicator, not knowing whether the directions on the screen were even right myself but figuring they'd be better than just staying here.

"That is correct" I state loudly, the roaring of the engine as I begin to speed up on the main road forcing me to raise my voice. As I drive I glance down at the screen, wincing and hiss through clenched teeth as I spot the tail end of what the screen thought I said.

"You got it"

While relatively innocuous as sentences go it was the difference that stung, the fact that whatever I was saying was being heard in a different manner leaving me worried as to whether I'd be stuck with my words being twisted mid-flight for the rest of my life.

The worry and fear drains away, as does much of the blood from my brain, as I reach the highway nearby. As I press in the accelerator I find the car seemingly coming to life, the force and rate at which I drastically speed up to the new speed limit leaving me almost breathless.

Despite the speed and the poorly maintained road I find the drive being almost flawlessly smooth, the thoughts of my old beat-up sedan and the memories of each gear shift almost making me shudder as I find the chassis of the BMW barely shift a beat with the expensive suspension taking the brunt of every knock and shake.

The air whips past me as I follow the faintly curved line on the GPS, the dozens and dozens of miles ahead of me clicking down on the tracker bit by bit. I press the cruise control, the screen in the dash board quickly flickering with a notification that lane assist was also being activated. In my hands I feel the wheel tug slightly, evening up my spacing in the lane of the highway as the car sets up for the long drive ahead.

"Oh... this is..." I gasp, my words falling short as a sudden rush of air slams be from a truck passing by across in another lane. The burst of hair hammers my face, tearing through my hair as I find my vision suddenly flashing with a burst of red sparks followed by a brief moment of darkness before clearing entirely.

I watch as the sparks litter the road behind me, the asphalt seemingly eroding the tiny sparks as they die off in the more open environment. I feel the air pick up far more mass than before, long strands of hair tickling at my ear, neck, and shoulders as the wind races through the convertible.

I take a hand from the steering wheel, eliciting a subtle beeping from the dash as a new notification asks tat I keep my hands on the wheel while using lane assist. Despite it's rather easily ignore pleadings I reach up, grabbing a fistful of hair between my fingers before bringing it back into my vision.

The strands are silky and perfectly maintained, the healthy and thick strands seemingly getting far more care than I had ever been bother to give my old extremely short hair. Oddly enough the color is both correct and wrong at the same time.

The length seems to be a few inches below my shoulder, the long light brown bundle in my fist being easily held in front of me. The tips however are a relatively dark blonde, the dye blending and easing into the brown base up along each follicle in a manner that seemed far more expensive than the average dye job.

"Fuck..." I hiss, tilting my head as I try to catch a view of my head in the rear view. I release the clump of hair, letting it race back in the wind and dance behind my with the rest of my immaculately maintained do. A sigh of relief escapes my lips, my hairy face still remaining mostly the same aside from my plush and inviting lips.

"So..." I huff, watching as my hair tips about behind me with a scowl. "I guess I'm a dyed blonde now..." I grumble, blowing a few strands from my gloss smeared lips.

Thankfully, despite the constant remainder of the hair fluttering behind me and the feeling of the wind rushing over my drastic curves or into my cleavage I find myself getting lost in enjoying the sheer power of the vehicle under my control.

Before long I notice the off ramps growing fewer and further between, with outer suburbs giving way to open farmland or little patches of trees and parkland. Hills and mountains build on the horizon before looming large as the freeway begins to twist a little more in an attempt to navigate the elevated elements in the terrain.

"Turn right at... next exit" the GPS coos, snapping my attention away from simply enjoying the sun on my tan skin and feeling of freedom this car instilled.

"Right..." I mutter, indicating as I spot the strange exit in seemingly the middle of nowhere. I let out a wheeze as spot my long and hairy arms, my pale skin practically glowing red after the time on the open convertible. Thankfully my legs are spared, though not with any help from my filled out high-waisted shorts.

"Fuck... ouch ouch ouch..." I grumble, trying to move slowly as I feel my burnt skin sting with the pressure inside straining to get out. I try to focus on the road, coming away from the freeway and onto a winding single lane that undulates through a series of nearby hills before switching to mere dirt.

The car takes the change in stride, the sound of dirt and gravel soon rumbling around me as I spot the tops of trees in the distance. A long river or creek soon flashes into view beneath the hills, only being visible for a few seconds before becoming lost behind the slope of grass and wild flowers.

I'm forced to slow the car to a stop as I find the road splitting off, one taking my towards the forest while another seemingly less traveled one leads towards the river with an open gate otherwise blocking access. A small sign sits beside the gate, resting alongside a little mailbox.

Private Property

"Ms... Hale..." I mutter, remembering what Agent Davies had called me back at the office. With my heart skipping a beat I pull the car into the driveway, easing the lavish vehicle carefully between the metal posts to avoid any scratches or dents in the brand new ride.

The driveway is oddly long, practically becoming a new road as I pull between two hill before emerging out into a large stretch of wild flower filled field. The waterway that had once been blocked from sight seems to expand out, turning into a wide and deep body of water that rests at the end of the driveway.

My eyes go wide as I follow the dirt path up, it too expanding out into a wide circle where people could park much like the creek turned into the large lake. A wide wooden bridge seems to connect the dirt driveway to an island in the middle of the lake, a loud shocked gasp escaping my plush lips as I find myself eyeing up the large three story home standing tall and stout on the island.

'Fuck... me..." I wheeze, gazing over the dark green facade of the massive manor home along with the still fairly large amount of well maintained yard sitting around it's base. A pile of wood sits beside the left most wall, haphazardly stacked bunches of branches mixed in with unused wooden planks.

A few cars sit in the dirt patch by the bridge, parking in a jumbled manner but still with enough room for me to park the car somewhere close by at least. A group stands around the cars, with some even just sitting in the seats with the doors open to avoid the sun.

As I pull up some perk up, holding up hands and waving or glancing to the massive home as it looms from the island and threatens to blot out the sun as I grow closer and closer.

"Lake... House..." I muse, chuckling slightly as I slow the car to a crawl. "They weren't kidding..."

As I bring the car to a stop I quickly clamber out, my mismatched body struggling to stand properly as my tiny torso and widened hips seem to fit with my lanky arms and longer legs ending with tiny feet. I barely have any time to gather myself before I hear footsteps approaching, my gaze turning up as I spot...
