Trapped at the Swap Clinic - Part One

As I slowly come to I find myself in a darkened room. How I found myself here was foggy, a thick haze in my head slowing my thoughts as I begin to wake up. I let out a loud groan, a pulsing pounding sensation in my skull making me grit my teeth.

I try to adjust myself, to move my hands up to my head so I could cradle it in my hands. However, I find myself unable to move an inch. My wrists were bound along with my ankles, a set of thick adjustable bands pinning me on my back.

"H...Hello?" I croak hoarsely, my voice straining out of my dry throat.

I hear the subtle echo emanate in the darkness, whatever room I was in having some half-decent acoustics. I begin to strain my eyes, trying to make out shapes in the darkness. However, the room appears completely vacant aside from myself and whatever I was strapped to.

Suddenly as sharp static crackle sounds out in the room, the sharp sound causing me to wince as it aggravates my headache. A small green light blinks to life in the corner of my vision, the indicator of some sort of camera beginning to record.

From the small light I begin to get a better look at the room. Shiny metal plates run along the walls, glowing a subtle green as they reflect the only available light source. I had seen this sort of room before, the thought of where making my jaw drop.

"This is....this is a Swap Clinic!" I yell, writhing against my restraints yet again but to little effect.

I had seen it in an online ad, the metal room with a plush seeming table in the center. They were used for physical and mental swaps, the deluxe suite able to do both simultaneously or so the ad said.

"Hey...Help...Get me out of here!" I call out, each loud shout feeling like razor blades in my throat.

"And why would we want to do that?" a crackly voice asks, the speaker garbling their words near the point of being incomprehensible.

"Someone...someone can hear me? Good, get me out of here" I call back, weakly struggling against the restraints.

"But that would defeat the purpose" the voice responds, the static slowly getting better as the voice begins to come through with a little more clarity.

"Pur...Purpose? What...What did you do to me?" I ask, wincing as I feel the terrible throbbing headache pound within my skull.

"It's not what I've done, but what we're going to do" the voice explains, the initial static disappearing to the point I can start to make out the voice.

I furrow my brow, trying to concentrate through my aching head as I focus on the voice. Suddenly my eyes go wide, my jaw-dropping as I strain to lift my head.

"I...I can't believe it..."
