The Lottery - Part Two

You Won - Division One

My eyes go wide as I read it, my gaze darting to the ten numbers I had picked for myself. A mixture of key dates and ages, ranging between 1 and 50, that I had arbitrarily selected as my lucky numbers.

Apparently they had been, with each and every one being drawn as was required for the top prize in any given round of the Lottery.

My breath catches in my throat, my heart skipping a beat as I read more.

Congratulations Mr. Jordan Hughes

We are happy to inform you that you have won the Division One prize in last night's drawing (Draw: 0012).

We wish to extend our thanks to you for supporting the Lottery and are very excited to get you settled into your new life.

Please either visit our website or visit any local branch to confirm your prize.

(Prizes are non-negotiable, once a participant has been drawn from the prize pool another cannot take their place. Prizes may not be exchanged for currency or gifts of equivalent value. Prizes may not be exchanged from one person to another, only the valid ticket holder may claim the prize).

We apologize in advance as, due to privacy concerns, we are unable to inform you fully about your prize until after you have claimed it.

We shall endeavor to provide you with all you need to know to make an informed decision.

If you have any questions please respond to this email, First Division winners such as yourself are not handled by the usual automated systems. Otherwise, you can call me on the number listed below.

Thank you again for your support and congratulations,

Placing my phone down on the countertop I stagger back, my head swimming as I struggle to move last my disbelief. The odds of this were... unreal, after only a few tickets to win the top prize was simply mind-boggling.

This...this can't be..." I murmur, my voice shaking like a leaf in a storm. Craning my head around I spy my laptop resting on my coffee table, a chance and a plan to confirm what the email said quickly coming to me.

Snatching my phone back up I race over to the computer, practically ripping the screen up and open as I drop to my firm couch. The wait is almost painful, the older computer struggling to wake up almost as much as I had.

By the time I can reach a web browser my palms are practically drenched, my whole body sweating in a state of anxious panic and excitement. Navigating to the Lottery home page is fairly easy, though the page itself chugs as tens of thousands of people log in to check it they had won or to confirm some meager winnings.

After a few minutes of waiting I finally manage to log in, my jaw=dropping as I see the notification on the center of my profile screen.

Division One Prize - (View) - (Accept) - (Decline)

With no small amount of trepidation I click at the view link, wondering just what would happen.

As the email had said there is not a lot of information to go off of. It did make sense for privacy reasons, the chance to decline the prize making so that a full release would be akin to a less than accidental doxxing.

In lieu of more detailed information about the prize I'm met with a small window filled with scant few details about my proposed body to be. Name, age, sex, occupation, and even a few small facts likely making up what led them to being a major prize in the first place taking up the small amount of window space available.

At the bottom of the window reads a small line of text, the accept and decline buttons now prominently displayed beneath it.

Offer valid for two days. If accepted, please make your way to the nearest clinic to begin procedure.

                     (Find Nearest Clinic)

As soon as I finish with the small line of text I immediately look back to the information contained in the window, my gaze hungry for more knowledge of my prize.

Glancing over the scant little information I find myself reading about...
