Out of Time - Part Two

Through the shifting shape of my limbs I make out something in the distance, a faint faraway light that appears to be growing ever so slowly as I hurtle towards it. For a moment I think that it will take me forever to reach whatever it was at my current speed, however, after only a few seconds I watch as it rapidly begins to grow in size.

What had once been just a tiny speck in the distance quickly grows to a decent size, the image of planet Earth filling the empty void as small lights begin to flicker into existence in the black inky space. As the curve of the Earth becomes visible beyond the edges of my braced arms I finally realize just how quickly I was truly moving, the light having not been tiny but rather massive and impossibly far away when I started.

I open my mouth to scream as I race towards the ever-growing planet before me, yet I find no sound escaping my lips. Tensing up, I watch as the overwhelming image of my home fills my vision and replaces the darkness of the void with a calming blue light. Curling up further, tucking my legs beneath me in the fetal position, I finally feel something strike me. A rush of air slams into me as I hit the atmosphere, my limbs wobbling and shaking apart as the resistance all but scatters my fluid form.

The moment I feel the air rushing around me a screaming voice reaches my ears, or more specifically screaming voices. The dissonance causes me to silence myself, my eyes going wide as I focus on the chaotic mess I had just heard. It was like a crowd of voices were all shouting at once, the same tone and intent behind each and every one of them. Unsure if I could even hear my own voice in that horrid cacophony I simply keep my mouth shut, my eyes watering as I rapidly approach landfall.

Before I make any form of horrific impact with the ground I feel my descent slowing, some force acting to ease my fall. The relief I feel only lasts mere moments before I feel myself being thrown around like a rag doll, my body hurtling through the sky towards some unknown location.

My stomach churns, nausea wracking me as I watch the ground fly by me in a blur. I mentally beg for it all to be over, to just be placed on solid ground.

As if something had heard my silent pleas I feel myself slowing to a complete stop, my head spinning as I look down to see...
